For Girls in 4th & 5th Grade
Navigate Puberty.
Body Basics and Beyond is an in-person program for 4th & 5th grade girls, offering clear, honest, age-appropriate guidance that helps them understand body changes with more confidence, more fun, and less uncertainty.
Why Body Basics Exists
Whether we talk about it or not,
puberty happens anyway.
Puberty is a powerful transition, and too many young people go through it alone, confused, or feeling ashamed. That’s not just difficult. It’s a public health concern.
The changes begin, questions come up, and emotions start to shift.
Without clear guidance from trusted adults, girls try to figure it out on their own, online, or in spaces we can’t always guide or trust.
Body Basics and Beyond was created to change that.
We provide a safe, supportive space where girls feel seen, heard, and prepared for the journey ahead.
We believe every girl deserves understanding, guidance, and the right support.
Puberty isn’t something to just get through. It’s a stage where the young girl you care for deserves clear guidance, real support, and the confidence to understand her changing body.

I hold a Master’s degree in Public Health (Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences) from San Diego State University. A study abroad experience sparked my passion for understanding how culture shapes the way we relate to our health and our bodies.
I’m a certified body literacy and fertility awareness educator, supporting young people and women in reconnecting with their natural rhythms through cycle education, movement, and awareness. My approach is experiential, heart-centered, and rooted in creating safe, engaging, and meaningful learning spaces.
My training includes fertility awareness and sexual health education, as well as puberty and adolescent body literacy education. I’ve been deeply influenced by educators who center clarity, care, and relational learning.
At the core of my work is a commitment to making body education accessible, engaging, and grounded, while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and self-trust.
Outside of my work, I love dancing, going on mini adventures, having existential conversations, and dreaming up creative projects with my sister over tea.

I’m here to help the young girl you care for feel seen, informed, and supported through every step of this transition.

Teaching public education wasn't going to satisfy my soul, so I've spent over a decade teaching theatre, creative writing, philosophy, and problem solving to elementary and middle school children.
As a Senior Instructor at Art of Problem Solving, I worked with hundreds of students, designing classes that challenged young minds and made them fall in love with thinking and creative problem solving. At Lake Dillon Theatre Company, I performed in children's educational productions and led an after-school theatre program that invited children to connect with their voices and creativity.
When I found Body Basics and Beyond, something in me recognized it immediately as the curriculum I am meant to teach. Because puberty is one of the most tender thresholds a young person crosses , and so often they cross it alone, ashamed, and completely confused. I want to change that. I want to be the adult I needed, and maybe the one you needed too.
Outside the classroom I'm a writer, a dancer, and a devoted lover of myths and good stories. I am a ceremonial space holder, holding and facilitating spaces of transformation, celebration, and commemoration. I believe storytelling belongs everywhere, yes, even in puberty class. You'll often find me barefoot on a dance floor, lost in my writing , or deep in conversation over tea with my sister, who also happens to be my teaching partner.
I bring warmth, humor, and genuine heart into every room I enter. Your child will be met here with honesty, curiosity, and zero judgment. And so will you.

I’m here to guide the young girl you care for with clarity, confidence, and compassionate support.

Program Overview
A space where what they’re going through starts to make sense.
This isn’t something that can be solved in a single conversation. It’s also not a rigid classroom.
Body Basics and Beyond is an 8-class puberty education program where girls can explore, ask questions, and better understand this stage through activities, conversation, and support.
More than information, the goal is for each girl to walk away thinking: this is normal, I can understand this, I can go through this.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the parent info session required?
Yes. It’s part of the process to ensure families understand the program before enrolling.
What happens during the Parent Info Session?
We’ll walk you through the program, share what to expect, answer your questions, and help you decide with clarity whether this feels like the right fit for your kiddo.
Does my kiddo need to have already gone through these changes?
No. The program is designed to support girls before and during this stage.
What kind of activities are included and how do they help?
All this will be answered in the parent information session. That is why it is very important that all parents/guardians attend a parent info session in order to enroll their kiddo.
Where will the sessions take place?
Location will be provided at parent info session, it’ll be in a central San Diego location around Normal Heights.
Do I need to be present, or is it just for my daughter?
Even though parents aren’t allowed to be in our class, as they are meant to be a private space for young girls, parents/guardians will be participating at home through paired assignments and journaling prompts.
